Integrating the Sciences, Arts, and Entrepreneurship

We strongly believe in educating and preparing young learners to become the next generation of interdisciplinary problem solvers, critical thinkers, effective storytellers, and business-savvy creatives.

We interact one-on-one with our mentees to teach them the foundations of the cognitive and brain sciences, how to integrate the arts into both the study of the mind/brain and the communication of science through original research projects, and how to translate their work into real-life entrepreneurial ideas of social impact.

We carry out hands-on mentoring programs that integrate a variety of disciplines in the Sciences such as Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, Psychology and Artificial Intelligence, and in the Arts such as Film, Theatre, Photography and Music, and in Entrepreneurship and all related business topics.

Our unique interdisciplinary and individualized mentoring approach provides students with the knowlege, skills, and products necessary to succeed in any field of study of their choice.

Topics from our recent mentoring program include: perception and cognition, emotion and social interaction, memory encoding and retention, and spontaneous creativity and therapy as related to music and the arts.

We specifically tailor our workshops for various audiences and venues and cover a range of topics, concepts, themes, and examples at the intersection of the Cognitive & Brain Sciences and the Visual, Performing, & Literary Arts.

In our recent workshops, we have worked with children and teens from Baltimore City, MD and undergraduate and graduate students from Rochester Institute of Technology, NY.

We have pioneered, developed, and taught since 2009 original and unique multidisciplinary Science-Art curricula tailored for various age groups.

Our courses lie at the intersection of the Cognitive & Brain Sciences and the Visual & Performing Arts and cover a variety of topics such as:

tack Neuroscience Applied: Designing & Communicating Theory & Research, about brain science applications outside of the academic lab setting.

tack Minds and Machines, about the intersection of artificial intelligence and world literature.

tack Mind, Brain, and Beauty, about the (neuro)aesthetics of music and visual art perception and cognition, creativity and artificial intelligence.

tack Introduction to Music Cognition, Topics in Music Cognition Part 1 & Part 2, about how music is perceived, experienced, and created.

tack Visual Cognition & Perception, about the human visual system, the neuroscience of visual art aesthetics, perception/cognition and data visualization.

"I cannot thank you enough for all you have taught me! These past 6 weeks have been extremely valuable and I have learned more than I could have imagined. Thanks to you, not only did I attend class and write a paper, but I developed my analytical skills and thinking capabilities. Also, I picked up key skills which I will carry on to college.
